Chilly ride, -2C, with 35mph windchill on the road coming home - brr

(WNR's will be straight from work from now on so appear to be a bit shorter as I just record the track after leaving the Lewis)

The Garmin Edge 305 has finally had it - its been turning itself off for months, more and more, and now it wont even save what data it records. We rode switchbacks, golf course, ridgeway to snowball junction, but then instead of going down sandy hill of death we continued straight on, to the road and turned right up the road to the angry farmers, then back along the ridgeway. I left the group and came home via Mackeral, which was very overgrown in the 3rd quarter, unridable and ripped my legs to bits.

I forgot my heart rate monitor!

The start of the route is missing because the Garmin keeps turning itself off when I go over anything bumpy - putting the Garmin in the rucsac helps, but then the heart rate doesnt get recorded... bugger

Similar route as the last SMR, with an extra bit of switchbacks, golf course, ridgeway (lots of horses!), and bluebell descent to home through lisvane - a great ride

I missed the WNR so went along to Colin's Sunday morning ride instead - it was a great ride with a friendly bunch. The view from the top of Garth Hill was spectacular!

(forget to start the GPS when we left Tongwynlais - usual route up the switch-backs then over the golf course to the A469 - then a new (fast!) bit for me down the Wenallt)

MTB-Wales WNR - good ride but lots of road
